Students exist within families.
Caring for a child with complex needs can involve emotional, physical, logistical, and financial demands. Supporting the student without supporting the family leaves part of the student’s world untouched.

A shared plan, not competing plans
Brooks seeks collaboration grounded in respect, honest communication, and shared decision-making. Families help shape priorities and receive coaching so communication, mobility, self-care, regulation, and other strategies can carry into life beyond school.
Family education
Practical training and coaching help caregivers understand equipment, strategies, communication systems, and student goals.
Family wellbeing
Long-term plans include support groups, counseling connections, respite opportunities, and wellness resources.
Sibling belonging
Siblings are included through priority Unified Community access, shared recreation, peer connection, and sibling support.
Respectful coordination
Education, therapy, nursing, home priorities, and medical recommendations are discussed as parts of one child’s life.
When families feel informed, supported, connected, and hopeful, students are better positioned to thrive.
